Minds for Google Sheets
Minds for Google Sheets sends questions from the first column of a selected range to an existing Minds Audience. It preserves blank rows, asks for confirmation before using plan allowance or overwriting cells, and writes each result into the next column.
Use a Google Sheet as a lightweight research queue. Select rows containing questions, choose an existing Minds Audience, review the confirmation, and write the answers into the adjacent column.
What the add-on does
- Reads the first column of the range you selected.
- Ignores empty questions while preserving their row positions.
- Asks for an existing Minds Audience ID.
- Confirms the number of questions and warns if existing output cells will be overwritten.
- Sends up to 25 non-empty questions to Minds.
- Writes one result per selected row into the first column immediately to the right of the selected range.
The add-on calls the canonical ask_audience MCP tool with the audienceId you provide. It does not create a separate research implementation or change the selected Audience.
Requirements
- A Minds account
- A Minds plan that includes API and MCP access. See plans and pricing.
- An existing Minds Audience
- A Minds API key from Settings, API Keys
Data and credential handling
Your API key is stored in your own Google Apps Script user properties. It is never written into a spreadsheet cell or committed to the public source code.
For each run, the add-on sends the selected non-empty questions, the Audience ID you entered, and your API key to https://getminds.ai/mcp. Minds returns the research result that the add-on writes into the sheet. No other spreadsheet cells are sent.
Use Extensions, Minds, Clear Minds API key to remove the locally stored key. This does not revoke the key in Minds. Revoke a key from Minds API key settings when you need to invalidate it everywhere.
