October 2, 2026·Minds Team # **Minds for Figma: Audiences, Studies and native comments** Select a Figma frame, ask your Minds Audiences a question, review the Study and return completed feedback as native comments. Includes setup, availability and troubleshooting. Minds Creative Review brings the Minds Study input and Audience picker into Figma. Select a design frame, describe what you want to learn and choose Audiences. The development plugin prepares a private Study, lets you review and confirm the research, and requests native Figma comments from the completed answers. Minds is an end-to-end platform for commercial synthetic research across qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method Studies. The Figma integration focuses on selected design images; broader Study methods, including MaxDiff, remain available in Minds. Synthetic feedback is directional evidence from AI respondents, not a claim of observed human behavior. Minds PRISM is the proprietary reasoning, inference and source-modeling engine beneath every Mind. Where enabled, it combines public-source context with permitted research inputs to support grounded, consistent and accurate directional synthetic research. ## Availability Status checked on **2 October 2026**: | Part | Status |

A primary-image selector validation defect found during acceptance has a follow-up repair; this guide's captures demonstrate frame summaries. | ## Set up the development plugin You need the official Figma desktop app to import a local development manifest, an editable design, the current built Minds Creative Review package and a Minds account. Research also requires an Audience and sufficient available usage. The package already contains its genuine registration; importing it does not create a public listing. In Figma, open **Plugins → Development → Import plugin from manifest** and select `manifest.json` from the built Figma package. Run Minds Creative Review from the development menu. Use the current package: earlier versions used an existing-Study picker and inserted a text layer; that is the older workflow. Native comments have their own consent step. ## Select the design Select **one unrotated FRAME** containing the design to review. If an image or another layer is selected, select its containing frame or place the image inside a frame first. The plugin exports that frame as a static PNG. Selecting a frame alone does not upload it, start research or charge usage. A static image does not show scrolling, prototype transitions or interactive state. Use additional supported Study inputs when the question depends on those behaviors. Read [Study guidance](https://getminds.ai/guide) for the broader research workflow. ## Connect Minds and enable comments Choose **Connect Minds** and complete the normal Minds authorization in the browser. Return to the plugin. The panel loads your Audiences; larger libraries use an explicit Load more action. Open **Enable comments on this board**. Copy the current Figma design link from Share and paste it into **Figma board link (for comments)**. The selected frame supplies its node ID. The board link identifies where comments belong; it does not import the whole board into Minds. The public plugin cannot obtain the REST API file key automatically. This setup link is therefore required even though the design is already open. Keep the same board and frame selected when resuming a saved Study. Authorize the separate Figma comment connection when requested. Read-only design import remains available separately. Native comment delivery requires file-content read, comment read and comment write permission for the connected Figma account. ## Ask your Audiences Enter the question in **Describe what you want to learn in this Study…** and choose **Select Audiences**. Select the reusable target populations you want to hear from; the primary picker selects Audiences rather than individual Minds. For example: “What is your first impression of this campaign, and which information would you need before trying the product?” Make the question specific to the selected frame. Review the selected-Audience count before sending. Sending prepares a private Study with the selected frame. Review the saved research draft, including its question, Audiences and usage, before confirming it in the panel. Research begins only after that confirmation. Findings become eligible for comments after the exact run has completed. ## Read the feedback on the board The current plugin requests **frame-summary comments**. These are native Figma comments on the selected frame, labelled AI research feedback from Minds and linked to the private Study. The connected Figma account is the author; the AI respondents do not become separate Figma accounts. Open Figma's **Comments** panel to read the feedback. The original design remains editable. They show verified production frame-summary delivery, not positioned persona reactions or a completed native-plugin send. ## Retry, reconnect and troubleshoot If the board link is missing or malformed, the current package opens comment setup before creating the Study. Copy the actual design/file URL rather than a website, prototype route or historical version. Select one supported frame before retrying. If comments are unavailable, reconnect with comment permission. A successful read-only import connection alone does not authorize comment writes. If the connection expired, reconnect Minds and resume the saved draft on its original board/frame. Review the saved run before confirming again; do not create a second Study simply to retry delivery. Completed comment deliveries are recorded and reconciled. The production acceptance test repeated the exact publish request and received its original Figma comment ID. A partial or uncertain delivery needs its saved receipt checked before another attempt. If the panel still shows the older existing-Study or individual-Mind workflow, install the current development bundle. Compilation or a local browser fixture is not evidence that a Community listing is approved. ## Security and references The integration sends the selected frame and question through Minds' owned Study workflow. Provider credentials remain server-side. Other people who can read the Figma design may see its posted comment; the linked Study keeps its own access controls.
